Biomarkers:

  1. HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin):

    • Description: HbA1c measures your average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months.
    • Importance: Elevated HbA1c levels are a marker of prediabetes or diabetes, both of which are major risk factors for heart disease. Monitoring HbA1c helps you understand your long-term blood sugar control and associated cardiovascular risk.
  2. High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP):

    • Description: hsCRP is a marker of inflammation in the body.
    • Importance: Elevated hsCRP levels indicate chronic inflammation, which is closely linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Monitoring hsCRP can help you identify underlying inflammation and assess your risk of cardiovascular events.
  3. Lipid Profile:

    • Description: This panel measures your cholesterol levels, including HDL, LDL, and triglycerides.
    • Importance: Understanding your lipid profile is crucial for assessing your risk of heart disease. High levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides, along with low levels of HDL (good cholesterol), can increase your risk of atherosclerosis, heart attack, and stroke.
